Clostridium Difficile (C. Diff) Study
Spending a lot of time at the doctor?
Learn about a study of an investigational vaccine for people who may be at risk of Clostridium difficile (C. Diff).
People who are taking antibiotics or are being treated at a hospital or health care facility have an increased chance of getting sick due to C. Diff.
C. Diff can cause frequent diarrhea, abdominal pain, and inflammation of the colon which, when severe, can be life threatening.
Some of the symptoms of C. Diff infection include:
- Watery diarrhea, up to 15 times each day
- Severe abdominal pain
- Loss of appetite
- Blood or pus in the stool
- Weight Loss
Wake Research Associates is enrolling volunteers with C. Diff in a study testing the effectiveness, tolerability and safety of an investigational medication for this condition.
