To implement recruitment and retention campaigns by using outreach initiatives in school campuses, community and senior centers, specialized health organizations, churches and social organizations.
Volunteering in a clinical trial makes you part of the scientific community which develops medicines that may lead to a cure. Minority patients and uninsured patients are underrepresented in important medical research to find treatments for the very diseases that affect them. The dilemma is that these communities experience significant health disparities, but do not benefit equitably from new discoveries.
- To accomplish recruitment through the use of a network of community-based organizations, multi-media advertising campaigns, community events and established database to provide effective patient recruitment and retention specializing in minority populations including, but not limited to, the Latino/Hispanic and African American Communities.
- To overcome the multiple barriers of participation in research within racial and ethnic minority populations in the USA.
